March 2011
I realize I have been somewhat MIA as of late. Between the semester coming to an end, conventions and broken internet, it has been hard for me to keep on top of blogging. But there are a lot of exciting things happening for me right now :) Things here might still be running slow for a while, but in the mean time, don’t forget that I love submissions and what not. Feel free to contribute!
Farewell for now-
Ananiah.

Emperor Norton’s Stationary Marching Band - “Master Metaphor”
These guys are so fantastic
and it will be hosted by a man simply known as “A Count Named Slickbrass”
This entire post sums up this weekend.
We heard a lot of good performers this weekend. I’ll let you in on some of my favorites:
- Emperor Norton’s Stationary Marching Band. A fantastic collection of instruments, and a great sound. We saw them play three times and every time could not keep from dancing. They combine a kind of circus sound with a sort of gypsy flavor. Also they made Sexy Back sound bad ass.
- Psyche Corporation. My other favorite. It’s difficult to put this one in to words. The singer was spectacular and the songs were haunting and beautiful. Really amazing work.
- The Graces. An a cappella trio of wenches who sing about… being wenches. Their songs were entertaining, and their voices were fabulous
- This Way to the Egress. Really great gypsy sound and a variety of instruments
- Diabolis In Musica. A band of mental patients and their caretakers, from the St. Agatha’s Home for the Incurable. Music is therapy! The medieval instruments were amazing.
If you missed the Steampunk Industrial Revolution, you missed out big time.
It was the smallest con I have been to so far, but undoubtedly one of the best. There were so many good panels, and my Friend and I made a bunch of new friends. I’ll be putting some stuff up soon, look forward to it. O_-

Day 2
Today has been quite the adventure for some of us. What stared as a quiet day has turned into a very exciting night.
There is a pharmaceutical PharmaCed Medical Research, Inc. they call themselves, who are in the town researching antidotes for the virus, or so they tell us. Today they charged us with the task of bringing one of the infected to their lab for testing. Twenty of us rounded up a weak one and brought him down, and afterwards, we were rewarded with a beta antidote that gives us immunity to the virus for three hours.
This works well to our advantage. The Doctors at PharmaCed have informed us that there is a viable antidote lost somewhere on our campus. Of course, finding a 4 inch medical vial in the snow is not small task. we have been using our time wisely, searching in groups for the vial, but so far have had no luck.
Tonight at 11, we have been requested as escorts for a mercenary on duty. We hope that if we can get this individual to safety, we will be rewarded well but PharmaCed, but we are suspecting that they are not to be trusted. Hopefully all goes well tonight.
Quite relevant! I fully endorse this. I am especially fond of the little monocle. -_Q Steampunk themed emoticons and the like. You must check it out!
Work smork! Steampunk should be our living. If Only I was talented enough. But you can’t forget about your steamy work, it’s just as important!
You need to spend more time with me.
My character’s business cards arrived just in time for the Steampunk Convention this weekend in Nashua. (By the way, if any of you are going, let me know! We can find each other!)
I’m so giddy with excitement over just putting an outfit together. I was hoping I would have a specific project done in time, but it looks like that won’t be happening. I’m a bit behind, alas.
I want to fast forward to Friday, but instead I am stuck in the real world doing homework.
I’m looking forward to so many things coming up! This week is Zombies. Then end of the semester is LARP, and I’m hoping to get in at least two events this summer. Come September is the next Steampunk Convention, where Abney Park will be perfomring! Swoon! And hopefully there will be a great deal more sewing happening in the coming months.
Oh the excitement!
Day 1
The sun might as well as not have risen at all, as the sky was so over cast one could hardly tell. There have been whispers and rumors flying that the dead have been spotted amongst the living. No one you talk to has actually seen anything, but every one has heard of someone else hearing of someone else who knows.
Last night, a student swore that as he was walking home, three bodies pushed themselves from the snow and shambled after him. We laughed, but in the back of our minds, we’re wondering, could it really be possible? We had buried the bodies deep, and the ground is still frozen, but the “experts” keep saying that’s not enough.
The virus still lingers, somewhere.
The only question is where. Apocalypse
This is the third semester that our campus is having a week long game of Humans Vs Zombies. Super excited!
Last time, my Zombie Survival Diaries seemed pretty popular, so I will be doing them again. I will recount all of my harrowing escapes and adventures as I fight to keep one shuffling step ahead of the hoard.
Stay tuned!

That is an awesome start. I have never even heard of Spanish/Mexican Steampunk! Can you please tell me more??? You can submit me link and pictures, drop stuff in my ask, anything.
International Steampunk.
There’s more to the world than just Great Britain. Recently, many people have begun experimenting with more international forms of steampunk, including East Asian, and Native American. I’m very interested in this fairly new direction, but finding resources is sometimes difficult. If any of you dear people have some connections, blogs or other sources on the subject, please send them my way.
Your input is always welcome and appreciated!
Carry one!
